HairM donated all proceeds to The Portland Beavers & Portland Timbers Community Fund (PBPTCF) from services offered during the live Channel 8 Timbers Kick Off event at HairM Tuesday, April 28th. The PBPTCF has set an aggressive goal to distribute over $125,000 in grants to deserving non-profits in four county regions surrounding the Portland metro area. You've probably come to terms with the fact that having a professional shave at your favorite men's grooming shop is not something that is going to happen every day. Although shaving yourself isn't nearly as enjoyable, here are some tips for a closer shave at home:
1) Shave after a hot shower to soften the stubble
2) If you have a tendency to get razor burn, use a pre-shave oil
3) Use a quality shave cream or gel
4) Use a sharp razor, Mach-3 or better
5) Shave in the direction of your stubble on the first pass and then go against the grain for a closer shave
6) Finish off with a moisturizing balm to soothe the skin
