A Brazilian smoothing treatment is a keratin-based method that infuses liquid keratin and other ingredients that are indigenous to Brazil to smooth out each hair strand. The cuticle, the outer layer of each strand made of overlapping cells, protects each strand’s cortex, the central layer that gives hair its color, strength, and texture. Both these components are comprised of keratin, the primary protein in hair and nails.
When the cuticle cells are damaged by heat or the environment, they open to expose the cortex. This leaves hair easy to tangle and susceptible to more damage, and makes it appear frizzy and dry. The keratin in a Brazilian smoothing treatment acts as a barrier to close the cuticle cells and smooth each hair strand, and other ingredients straighten out each strand. The result is smoother, shinier hair that is easy to style.
Although Brazilian smoothing treatments are traditionally marketed to women, they are an extremely efficient choice for men with curls, frizz or cowlicks that make it difficult to keep their style in place. Hair needs to be at least two to three inches long to benefit from the treatment. The process takes about one hour, and the results last for two to three months.

Everything You've Been Wondering About Waxing for Men
Manscaping, wax on wax, peel and squeal...anyway you say it, you don’t need to run away screaming! Why do we wax? The truth is men are putting time into their appearance and those of us that are looking at you appreciate it! There is nothing sexier than a man who has taken the time to be well groomed. And bonus, if you are an athlete or love a good workout, it's a perfect way to shave some time off your ride or increase your speed in the pool. Cyclists also like to wax their legs to make road rash easier to treat. And finally, a smooth back is way more enjoyable to have massaged than a hairy one, for you and your therapist or partner!
Why should you get waxed rather than shave? Well for starters, waxing is much faster than shaving, it lasts longer and you only need to lay there and relax. Well try to relax. Sure, shaving works for small patches of hair. But having to shave your back while usually ineffective seems pretty impossible unless you have contortionist skills. Waxing is great for larger areas or areas with a lot of hair. You don’t have to wax your entire body but most men should have wax their brows so there are two. Even better if you do a quick nose wax so that you don’t look like a party favor when you sneeze. Of course, if you are a man that loves the ink you already know how much better your tattoos look on smooth skin.
Before the wax. Decide which areas you want to try, pop a couple of anti-inflammatories about an hour before you get there and clean it up! Before booking keep in mind of when you will be beach ready. Plan your wax for at least five days before your vacation or other big event. Also, make sure to exfoliate the day before your waxing service. You need to remove any dead skin or dirt to prevent ingrown hairs.
During the wax. We promise it is not as painful as you are thinking! Yes, we saw 40-Year-Old Virgin, and have yet to have any loud outbursts, although we hope to one day. Of course different areas are more sensitive than others, but in fact, many first-time waxers become regulars once they realize the pain is definitely worth the results. It also hurts less the more you do it. Don’t worry about looking feminine after your waxing service. Hair M services are made specifically for men. After the wax. You’re done before you know it! After the wax, be sure to follow aftercare instructions to prevent any issues. Your skin will probably be a little red and sensitive. Best to let the skin breathe in loose clothing for a couple of days but if you have a silk shirt be ready to feel like Rico Suave. After a couple of days, the trick is going to be keeping it exfoliated so that you do not get any ingrown hairs. Use a loofah but more importantly use a natural astringent antibacterial soap like Paul Mitchell’s Tea Tree Soap. Your skin might react a little after the wax -- it’s totally normal. Take an antihistamine to reduce swelling, keep it out of direct sun for the first day or so, no hot tubs or too hot of showers. A five-plus day grace period will give your skin time to calm down. Avoid shaving hair between sessions. It needs to be at least ¼ inch long for the wax to grip it. Ready to be a waxing regular?
